What they say:
Amici's East Coast Pizzeria is about quality, convenience, and enjoying the Northeast's distinctive Italian fare. In the mid-1980's two East Coast transplants, Peter Cooperstein from Boston, and Mike Forter from New York decided to do something about their mutual longing for the style of pizza they'd grown up with, and set out on a quest to learn the secrets that made pies from the famous pizzerias of New York, Boston, and Connecticut so distinctively delicious.
Menu Highlights
Vegan soy mozzarella can be added to any pizza. (I believe they use Cheezly brand.) The Asante pizza is vegan (but has no tomato sauce) or you can make your own.
Artichoke Panzanella Salad and Chilled Broccoli Salad

On the one hand, I appreciate that Amici's is bringing vegan pizza to some smaller towns in the Bay Area. On the other hand I can't help but raise an eyebrow about their SF locations. Specifically, their delivery range which seems to specifically omit neighborhoods where more minorities live. (Seriously, there's a big hole where Western Addition is.) Maybe I'm just bitter because my apartment falls one block outside their range. (Mexicans live here.) But I was able to sample some while at a friend's house recently and it was pretty good. It's nice to be able to hang out in social situations and order pizza like a normal human being. :-)
