At Veg Table, we're not big fans of censorship, but on the other hand, we also want to foster a supportive community amongst our fellow vegans and vegetarians. Balancing these two desires, here are the policies we've come up with:
Veg Table Pages (excluding comments)
The pages themselves should contain factual information and maintain neutrality. This area should be largely "self-policed" meaning that any user can modify content here to ensure that the pages maintain this accuracy. Users repeatedly seen to be spamming or defacing pages may be banned*.
Veg Table Page Comments
Page Comments are the place to leave opinions on restaurants or vendors. They are not a place to attack other members in any way. The following behavior may lead to having your comments deleted or account banned*:
- Any speech that is hateful towards or critical of vegan/vegetarian diets. Note: this includes vegans hating on cheese-eaters too! And we certainly welcome omnivores to contribute to the site. You don't have to agree with it, but please respect it. Or at least hash it out in the forum.)
- Any type of racist, sexist, or homophobic language. (Swearing is fine as long as it doesn't fall into this category.)
- Anything that's obviously spam and/or contains copyrighted, pornographic or otherwise illegal material.
Restaurant or business owners or employees are welcome to edit pages and make comments, however we request that when doing so, you identify yourself as such and adhere to the policies laid out here.
Veg Table Forum
The Forum is the place for discussion and healthy debate. The following behavior may lead to having your comments deleted or account banned*:
- Any type of racist, sexist, or homophobic language. (Swearing is fine as long as it doesn't fall into this category.)
- Anything that's obviously spam and/or contains copyrighted, pornographic or otherwise illegal material.
If You See Something Say Something
Members can always edit page text to comply with Veg Table standards. Regarding offending comments though, feel free to contact users directly or send any concerns to ten.elbat-gev|nimda#ten.elbat-gev|nimda.
